Nestled in the picturesque community of Witless Bay on Route 10, Irish Loop Drive, our cozy, newly opened, 3-1/2 star inn is pleased to offer you beautifully furnished rooms complete with ensuites and private decks. Here you can gaze at the Atlantic Ocean - maybe catch a glimpse of a whale's tail as they play in the bay, or watch the colorful Atlantic Puffins dive for caplin. Close your eyes and enjoy the peaceful tranquility of the waves roaring to shore and crashing on the pebbled beach from your private deck. Bears Cove Inn is on the East Coast Trail overlooking the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve and only minutes away from many other attractions, including boat tours, skidoo trails, fishing and hunting area.
Enjoy the outdoor seating area with water views where you may be lucky enough to see an iceberg in Witless Bay, or maybe take advantage of our propane BBQ. We are happy to provide a refrigerator for guest use to store your local goodies to prepare a special meal.

Local Attractions:
Bear's Cove Inn is centered round a hub of activities. There's something for everyone. From fine theater to hunting, romantic picnics to wild sea kayaking.
For the anglers, we are within walking distance of the Witless Bay Lower Pond - a great place for sea trout. We are also minutes away for some of the best hunting areas on the Avalon Peninsula. The Witless Bay Line is great skidoo country and excellent for ice fishing.
For the naturalist, local boat tours, zodiac tours and sea kayak rentals can take you out into the Atlantic for some spectacular whale watching and a look at the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve Witless Bay Ecological Reserve - North America's largest Atlantic Puffin colony.
For the sports enthusiast, take along your golf clubs as we have some of the best golf courses in Atlantic Canada. Visit our arena to watch some great local hockey - from squirts to the seniors fight for the Herder Memorial Trophy. If you enjoy cycling the Irish Loop Drive offers a real work out.
For those of you who want to experience our true culture - taste our cod tongues, jiggs dinner or other local favorites at the Sapphire Restaurant; experience the Irish flavor that runs through the Southern Shore at dinner theaters showcasing local talent; and find that special Newfoundland souvenir at the Ferryland Cafe and Gifts.
Getting There:
Travelling the TransCanada Highway:
Leaving the TCH on Route 13 (Witless Bay Line) continue to the Route 10 intersection, turn left on Route 10, turn right onto Dean’s Road and left onto Bears Cove Road. The first left on Bears Cove Road is our cozy inn.
Travelling from St. John's:
Travel along the Harbour Arterial south to Mount Pearl. Exiting at Route 3, turn left along Route 3 connecting with Route 10. Continue about 25 kilometers to Witless Bay turn left onto Dean's Road and left onto Bears Cove Road. The first left on Bears Cove Road is our cozy inn.
Travelling from St. John's Airport:
Leaving the airport turn left onto Portugal Cove Road, take the TCH west exit. Travel west on the TCH, exit 41B onto Route 2, take the third exit to Mount Pearl taking Route 3 to the Irish Loop Drive (Route 10). Continue about 25 kilometers to Witless Bay turning left onto Dean's Road and left onto Bears Cove Road. The first left on Bears Cove Road is our cozy inn.
